Ted is a native of the Central Valley of California. He graduated from the University of the Pacific with a BS in Business Administration. From there, he began his career in the banking industry as a Commercial and Residential Lender, specializing in Construction and SBA Loans. Ted subsequently attended California State University, Stanislaus, and completed his accounting coursework. He then went on to earn his CPA license in 1995.
In 1996, Ted opened up his own accounting firm after being employed with a few regional CPA firms. His areas of emphasis include the following: all phases of corporate and individual tax planning and preparation, business accounting and financial statement preparation, and estate, trust and gift planning. Ted has an interest in the professional fields of construction, medicine, and service.
He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants since 1995. Ted is also current with all peer review requirements and is certified as a CPA in California.
He has been involved with the community and non-profits, including St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), University of the Pacific, Lincoln Unified School District, Stockton Symphony, and Visionary Home Builders.
Ted is married to Kelley, and the two have been married for twenty-four years. They have two daughters, Eleni and Nicole.
Shilpa graduated from MG University, India 1993. She began her career at Kaylasam & Co, Chartered Accountants in India, where she was introduced to the accounting and tax work field. She also had the opportunity to assist in the accounting and audit work for some of the nationalized banks, as a part of her three-year internship there. After moving to the United States of America in 2005, she joined Mizuno, CPA in Tracy, CA where she had eight years of excellent training and was inspired to pursue her career in accounting & taxes. She got her enrolled agent license in 2012.
Kevin graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2012, with a degree in accounting. After his time at OPSU, he spent three seasons with a Texas Indoor Football team, before pursuing full-time work in Oklahoma. In August of 2016, Kevin moved back to California to work for Ted H. Bestolarides, CPA. His strengths in completing tax returns, working QuickBooks, and creating financial statements, are key aspects of our firm. Kevin has recently become a CPA.
Kevin and his wife, Magon, have a daughter and two sons. Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, and hunting.
Our History
The original firm, Ted H. Bestolarides - Certified Public Accountant, began with general accounting services for businesses and individuals. This developed into strategic planning for individual wealth maintenance, minimization of tax liabilities for individuals and corporations, and auditing and consulting services. We believe in "old school" principles, but we also believe in keeping up with the needs of individuals and businesses in this rapidly changing world.
Our Credentials
Our firm participates in the Peer Review program prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oklahoma Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Texas Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Our firm was last reviewed in June 2013, and we are currently in review. The resulting report stated that all of our accounting practices and procedures complied with or exceeded the industry's standards.
